After finishing high school, he enrolled in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka’s Accounting program, where he excelled academically and ultimately finished first in his class and overall in 1994. At the end of his time at university, he received the highest possible grade, a First-Class degree (honors), making him the top student in his whole department and among all faculty members.

In 2000, Valentine Ozigbo attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to earn a Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance. He received a Chevening Scholarship in 2003 and used it to earn a B.A. in Finance from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom.

• He later left this role and returned to United Bank for Africa in 2004, where he worked for four years as Head of International Banking.
• In 2008, he left United Bank for Africa for Keystone Bank where he served as the General Manager of the bank’s Global Transaction operation.

Valentine Ozigbo was ready for a new job after gaining experience in prior ones. From October 2011 to December 2018, he led Transcorp Hotels Plc as Managing Director and CEO. During his stint with Transcorp, he created and managed two hotels valued over $600 million with 5000 rooms. He built luxury flats and added retail to existing hotels.
