Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has urged youths in the country to join him in the struggle for a better Nigeria.
Recall that Yul recently announced that he would be running for the Presidential seat come 2023. His father, veteran actor, Pete Edochie had also given him his blessings for the political ambition.
Yul has charged youths to rise up and make their country great. He cited examples of former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon who ruled Nigeria at the age of 31. He also used the late Odumegwu Ojukwu led the Biafra side during the civil war at the age of 33.
In a tweet on his official Twitter page, Yul stressed that in the struggle for a better Nigeria, cowards are not welcomed. He beckoned on the courageous people to join hands with him.
He tweeted;
“Gowon was 31 when he became Head of State. Ojukwu led the war at 33. Youths, wake up. Don’t sit at home & tell me it won’t work. It makes you a coward. And in this struggle for a better Nigeria we do not need cowards. Join us, support the movement & together we’ll make it work.”
Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to this tweet. Some reactions read;
@HRH_Prince_Eze wrote;
“It’s unfortunate that many Nigeria youths lacks the spirit of fight to overcome! Determination matters, it will take a man sleepless night to get whatever he desires for.. let’s stop saying nobody can win Nigeria president from another party but it’s left for us to fight for it”

“I am tired of listening to this rubbish that Gowon was 31 and Ojukwu was 33 bla bla bla… They inherited a country that isn’t up to 10 years post independence and they’re top men in military army who took over government by FORCE, There was no 1999 constitution and Cabals.”
@Joe_Enoch wrote;
“When Gowon became the head of state how much was the ticket. And how much is a presidential ticket now. And average self employed youth cannot afford it except those born with silver spoon which many of them are not interested in the position or not even in the country.”
@RoselinUmah wrote;
“This courage of yours is all we need right now. The problem of our generation is that we don’t read history, we are very clueless about how things were done before we were born. The change begins now!”
@levisstrauss123 wrote;
“Are you sure we still have a Country? Your ability to tell with the events of today, the trajectory of this country, should inform you how to use your resources i.e. influence, energy, time and money, especially with attempts at Political offices.”
