World Cup: Akanji Explains How Switzerland Can Thwart Cristiano Ronaldo

Manuel Akanji, a defender for Switzerland, has revealed how his team can stop Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo in Tuesday’s World Cup round of 16 matchup.

Goldennewsng reports that Akanji says that one way to stop Ronaldo is to make sure the Portugal forward doesn’t have any room in the penalty area.

The star of Manchester City also acknowledged that, despite his advanced age, Ronaldo still poses a significant threat to Switzerland.

At his post-game press conference, Akanji said (via Goal) about how his team will try to stop Ronaldo:He is an incredible goal machine, even though he is older now.
