AAU Cut Off Mark 2023/2024

Admission into any university in Nigeria is highly competitive. Each year, over a million students apply to various Federal, State, and Private Universities in the country. Out of this large number, only approximately 500,000 students (arguably) will be granted admission. What happens to the remaining students? They are expected to stay at home and prepare for the next JAMB examination. Quite ironic, isn’t it?

To ensure transparency in the admission process, most universities, including AAU, release their criteria for admission annually. This is known as the departmental cut-off mark. Students who do not meet the departmental and JAMB cut-off marks for their desired course will not be considered for admission, at least in the merit list.

Now, the question arises: What are the JAMB and departmental cut-off marks for different courses in AAU? I will provide you with this information shortly. All you need to do is grab a glass of water and read through attentively. Enjoy!

Is AAU Cut-Off Mark for 2023 Out?

No, the official JAMB and departmental cut-off marks for AAU for 2023 have not been released yet. The cut-off marks I will provide here are from the previous year since changes are seldom made to the JAMB and departmental cut-off marks for eligibility to participate in the Ambrose Alli University Post UTME screening. You can work with the information provided here for now.

JAMB Cut-Off Mark

The JAMB cut-off mark for AAU is the minimum score that any student who selected AAU as their first choice in JAMB must achieve to be eligible to register for the Post UTME exam. The JAMB cut-off mark for AAU this year is 140, regardless of the course you applied for. Therefore, any student who sat for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination (JAMB) and scored 140 and above can proceed to the next stage of the admission process. However, if a student fails to achieve a score of at least 140, even if the JAMB score is 139, they will not be able to apply for AAU Post UTME.

Is the JAMB minimum cut-off mark the same for all courses in AAU?

Yes, the JAMB cut-off mark for AAU is the same for all courses, including Engineering, Banking & Finance, Computer Science, and others.

In addition to the JAMB cut-off mark, there is also the departmental cut-off mark, which is derived from your JAMB score. This is what we refer to as the aggregate score.

What is AAU Departmental Cut-Off Mark for All Courses?

Although a JAMB score of 140 makes you eligible to sit for AAU Post UTME Exam, it does not guarantee admission. To be offered admission, you must meet the departmental cut-off mark for the course you applied for. The departmental cut-off mark varies for each course. The more competitive a course is, the higher the cut-off mark for admission.

Below is a list of courses offered in Ambrose Alli University and their respective departmental cut-off marks:

Faculty Minimum JAMB Score
Agriculture 140 and above
Arts
– Mass Communication 200 and above
– Theatre & Media Arts 160 and above
Basic Medical Sciences 140 and above
Education 140 and above
Engineering & Technology
– Industrial and Production Engineering 180 and above
Environmental Studies 140 and above
Law 240 and above
Life Sciences
– Microbiology 160 and above
Management Sciences
– Banking & Finance 180 and above
– Public Administration 140 and above
Medical Laboratory Science 220 and above
Physical Sciences 140 and above
Social Sciences 140 and above

Please note that these are the departmental cut-off marks from the previous year, and the actual cut-off marks for the upcoming year may differ. It is advisable to stay updated with the official information from AAU.

FAQ

Is AAU Post UTME Form Out?

Yes, the sales of forms for Ambrose Alli University have already begun.

Will I be admitted if I don’t meet the cut-off mark for my course?

There is a chance of being admitted even if you do not meet the cut-off mark for the course you applied for, but it will not be through the merit list. If you are from a catchment area or ELDS (Educationally Less Developed States), then you still have a chance.

In Conclusion

The official cut-off mark for AAU for the 2023/2024 academic session has not been released yet. Based on previous years’ data, the JAMB cut-off mark will be 140 for all courses, while the departmental cut-off mark will vary depending on the competitiveness of the course. It is important to stay updated with the official information and announcements from AAU.
