You can’t force Igbos into war – Ohanaeze to Ekpa on claiming to be Biafran Prime Minister
On Tuesday, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a socio-political organization, criticized Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafra agitator, for declaring himself the Biafran Prime Minister. Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze’s Secretary-General, stated that Ekpa and his sponsors cannot force Igbos into a civil war. Isiguzoro further distanced Ohanaeze from the formation of the unity government and described Ekpa as an enemy of the Igbo nation.
Isiguzoro stated, “Ohanaeze worldwide strongly disapproves and condemns” Simon Ekpa’s alleged declaration as the “Biafran Prime Minister in Exile,” describing it as an orchestrated attempt by the Finland-based Igbo enemy to destroy Ala-Igbo. Ekpa, according to Isiguzoro, is an extremely dangerous terrorist in Africa and must be brought to justice. Ohanaeze also reiterated that Igbos cannot be pushed into fighting another war, regardless of the provocations from Ekpa and his sponsors.
Furthermore, Ohanaeze called on the Nigerian and Finnish Governments to extradite Ekpa to Nigeria to face prosecution for crimes against humanity without any delay. Ohanaeze made it clear that Ekpa’s latest action is aimed at distracting the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate from pursuing his Pan-Nigerian mandate at the election tribunal by questioning his belief in Nigeria when his people are pressing on with Biafra and now have a “Prime Minister in exile.”
Biafra: Simon Ekpa Writes United Nations, Says Peter Obi Won 2023 Election
Simon Ekpa, a leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and a pro-Biafra agitator, has written to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to declare that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, won the 2023 presidential election. Ekpa accused the Nigerian government of interfering with the election results, alleging that President-elect Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner instead.
According to Newsone Nigeria, Ekpa also criticized the Nigerian Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, for lying about the elections and for calling for a ban on all fundraising activities of IPOB. Ekpa stated that the UN has recognized that the 2023 general elections revealed ethnic, religious, and demographic fault lines in Nigeria, indicating that the situation requires urgent redress through a referendum.
Ekpa also stated that Obi’s running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, had cited election irregularities, and that Mohammed had fined a television station N5 million for reporting on the irregularities. Ekpa further alleged that Obi had defeated Tinubu in Lagos State, despite the disenfranchisement of Biafran people, and that government-sponsored thugs had burned down markets where Biafran people are dominant.
Ekpa also claimed that killings, burning of homes, markets, and churches were being perpetrated by government-sponsored terrorists and arsonists in state uniforms. He stated that the Eastern Security Network (ESN), made up of volunteer indigenous youths, was formed against state-sponsored terrorists, herdsmen, and their accomplices in the military.
Biafra: Simon Ekpa Writes United Nations, Says Peter Obi Won 2023 Election
In a letter addressed to the United Nations General Assembly, Simon Ekpa, a leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Biafra agitator, accused the Nigerian government of thwarting the election of Peter Obi during the presidential poll held on February 25, 2023. Ekpa, who considers himself a “Nnamdi Kanu disciple,” claimed that Peter Obi of the Labour Party won the election, but the government and its subservient electoral body declared Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner. He berated Information Minister Lai Mohammed for “lying” about the elections and called for urgent redress through a referendum. Ekpa also accused the government of sponsoring terrorists and arsonists in state uniforms to perpetrate killings, burning of homes, markets, and churches. He revealed that the Eastern Security Network (ESN), made up of volunteer indigenous youths, was formed against state-sponsored terrorists, herdsmen, and their accomplices in the military.
