Latest News on FG Cash Transfer Program Disbursement for Today October 28, 2023 can be accessed below.

In a proactive move to alleviate the financial impact of the fuel subsidy removal on Nigerian citizens, the Federal Government has expanded its Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program. This program, initially approved to provide relief to vulnerable Nigerians, has now been extended to include pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS). This expansion is a result of effective collaboration between the Pension Transitional Administration Directorate (PTAD), the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), and pension union executives.

Official Statement from PTAD:

The Corporate Communications unit of PTAD issued an official statement clarifying the inclusion of pensioners within the DBS in the cash transfer initiative. According to PTAD, “pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) are part of the priority groups to benefit from the just approved N25,000 Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT).”

Data Collection and Verification:

Mr. Sulayman, the Director of the Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD), explained the meticulous data collection and verification process. PTAD, in collaboration with the NUP, collected and verified the data of all DBS pensioners. This verified data has been submitted to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Expansion of the CCT Program:

The Conditional Cash Transfer program, which was launched earlier this month, aims to benefit 15 million economically vulnerable Nigerians. Eligible recipients will receive N25,000 payments over a three-month period.

Addressing the Impact of Fuel Subsidy Removal:

The inclusion of pensioners within the DBS in the cash transfer program reflects the government’s commitment to supporting a broader section of the population affected by the fuel subsidy removal. This decision acknowledges the contributions of pensioners who have played a significant role in the nation’s progress throughout their working years.
