NCDC Confirms 160 New COVID-19 cases in Nigeria

Nigerian Center for Disease  Control  has confirmed 160 New COVID-19 cases in Nigeria .

GoldenNewsNg  reports that the NCDC on Friday evening, 12th September 2020, confirmed 160 New COVID-19 cases in Nigeria.

The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.

3.  Harry Maguire to remain Manchester United Captain

Harry Maguire will remain Manchester United captain, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

Harry Maguire , 27, was given a suspended prison sentence on the Greek island of Syros after being found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and repeated attempts of bribery.

He maintains his innocence and has appealed against the decision, which nullifies the conviction.

4. How Wanted Cultist Bobrisky Was Arrested In Rivers, Died In Police Custody (Video)

The Rivers State Command of the Nigerian Police Force on Saturday, arrested a most-wanted armed robber, cultist and kidnapper popularly known as Bobrisky of Gokana

Following the above report  this News Online platform gathered that Bobrisky is dead.

The arrested criminal died from wounds sustained during a fierce gun battle with the Police operatives before his arrest. Bobrisky, whose real name is Honest Digbara, was arrested on Saturday morning at Korokoro in the Tai Local Government Area of the state.

Before his arrest, Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, had earlier expressed worries about plans by the notorious cultist to unleash mayhem in the south-south state.

The Rivers State Governor had alleged that Bobrisky planned to cause security breaches in the state and placed a N30 million bounty on his head, for any member of the public who can provide useful information that will lead to the arrest of the criminal.

5. Why NLC Will Not Protest Against Petrol, Electricity Hike – Wabba

Ayuba Wabba, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has said labour would not protest the recent increment in prices of various essential commodities, including fuel and electricity yet. Recall that the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) announced that the pump price of premium motor spirit (petrol) has been increased to N151, 60 per litre from N145 with effect from Sept 2.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed the only thing he wants from the Nigerian government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

8. Buhari Govt Reschedules Meeting With NLC, TUC, Others

The Muhammadu Buhari-led government has shifted its meeting with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to Tuesday.

In a message on Saturday, Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Charles Akpan, announced the new date.

Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Christian Centre, has reacted to the ongoing disagreement  between Bishop Oyedepo and Daddy Freeze,

Paul Enenche described popular On-Air Presenter, Daddy Freeze as a mad dog for insulting Bishop Oyedepo 

He stated this while reacting to a trending video where the OAP described Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church as a “baldheaded fowl.”

Reacting in a statement, Enenche said Daddy Freeze is a mad dog who is suffering from bipolar disease.

James Ngilari, a former Governor of Adamawa State, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

13. Crisis hits Niger PDP Congress 

Crisis on Saturday afternoon hit the Niger State Chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) as two factions clashed disrupting the State Congress.

The Congress was scheduled to hold today (Saturday) 12th of September but was marred following the emergence of vehicles from a leader of the Party in the State to whisk electoral Officers away.

The Congress which was married with violence had thugs suspected to be loyal to the two top contenders for the office of the Chairman engaged each other in a free for all fight.

As the people of Edo State gear up for the governorship elections, Government and security agencies are putting things in place to ensure free and fair  Edo Election.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has deployed top police officers for the Edo State governorship election on September 19.

Those deployed include the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Adeleye Olusola Oyabade; an Assistant Inspector General of police, Karma Hosea Hassan, and eight other commissioners of police.

 

16. Edo Election: If Elected, Nobody Will Have To Leave Edo State For Treatment – AMP Candidate

The candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in the Edo State governorship elections, Igbineweka Osamuede, has promised to revamp the healthcare system in the state if he is elected governor.

At a governorship debate hosted by Channels Television in Edo State on Friday, Osamuede said under his administration, he would ensure that residents don’t have to leave the state for their healthcare needs.

“With my government, the problems in healthcare will be a thing of the past. I don’t think anybody will leave Edo State to go outside the country for any treatment,” he said.
