With the YEIDEP disbursement date drawing near, it’s important for all applicants to know the key reasons they might miss out, even after completing registration.

Some of The reasons are:

1. Incomplete Application or Unlinked Bank Account

One of the most common reasons people miss the grant is having an incomplete application or not opening a proper YEIDEP bank account. If you started your registration but didn’t complete all the steps — or you didn’t open a verified account through one of the partner banks — your application might not be considered.

To be eligible for the disbursement:

  • Your YEIDEP bank account must be opened with the same phone number used during registration.

  • Your account must be properly linked to your application on the portal.

If these steps are not completed, your name might not appear on the payment list.

2. Inactive or Dormant Bank Account

Another issue is having an inactive or dormant bank account. Some applicants open their YEIDEP account but never fund it, thinking it won’t matter. Unfortunately, partner banks often flag inactive accounts during the verification process.

To avoid this:

  • Simply deposit a small amount — even ₦100 or ₦500.

  • This shows your account is active and ready to receive funds.

It’s a small step that proves you’re serious about receiving the support.

3. More Applicants Than Available Slots

It’s also important to remember that YEIDEP has limited slots per disbursement round. Over 5 million Nigerians have applied so far, but not everyone will be selected in the July batch.

Even if you did everything right, you may need to wait for future rounds.

Stay Ready and Be Hopeful

Here’s what you can do to improve your chances:

  • Follow all instructions carefully

  • Keep your account active

  • Stay updated via SMS and email

  • Be patient and pray for favor

Sometimes, a small mistake can delay your opportunity, but staying alert and hopeful could make all the difference.
