How Do I Know If I Have Been Given Admission

Here are the some reliable  Ways To Know If You Have Been Given Admission by your school or JAMB.

  1. School SMS notification
  2. School Email Notification
  3. JAMB CAPS
  4. School Portal

a) School SMS Notification:

During the Post-UTME or admission registration process, most schools will require you to provide your correct phone number.

Many of these schools will notify you once you have been accepted by sending a text message to the phone number you provided when you applied for admission.

As a result, it is recommended that candidates provide their active phone numbers when applying for admission.

b) School Email Notification:

Many schools also require applicants to provide their email addresses when applying for admission.

Candidates are also sent admission notifications through this channel.

The unfortunate reality is that many candidates rarely check their emails.

If you are an admissions applicant, it is highly suggested that you check your email address on a regular basis in case your school decides to send admission notifications via email.

This is also one of the ways to find out if you have been admitted.

.

c) JAMB CAPS Status:

The JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) allows prospective candidates seeking admission into various tertiary institutions to track their admission status and detect when they have been offered admission by any institution.

d) School Portal Status Check:

Almost all Nigerian tertiary institutions now have their own websites.

The majority of these schools do announce the admission list’s release and publish the names of admitted students on their websites.

Know the official website of your preferred school and keep an eye on it to know when admission announcements are made.

  1. First, find out the amount that is required to be paid as an acceptance fee for the admission that has been offered to you.
  2. It is important to note that if you do not pay the acceptance fee, it means you have rejected the admission offer and will lose the admission slot to someone else.

  4. It is important to note that paying your school fees immediately after paying your acceptance fee will prevent you from being matriculated (officially enrolled and added to the student database) on time.
  5. You must also prepare all of the necessary documents for registration and clearance into your new faculty and school.
  6. This could include documents such as O’level results (such as WAEC result, NECO result, etc), JAMB admission letter, Birth Certificate, LGA identification certificate, JAMB result print-out, an attestation letter from a parent or guardian, etc.
  7. You can always get the complete list of required documents from your school’s admissions office or even from your faculty.
  8. Next, it is important that you read and properly acquaint yourself with academic and general rules and regulations to avoid falling into any trap that could lead to your expulsion or any other detrimental punishment.
  9. After you have completed all the necessary payments and registration, it is a good idea to get your faculty and departmental lecture timetables as soon as possible so that you can start attending lectures.
  10. Attending lectures will set you up for a smooth academic career.
  11. Finally, don’t hesitate to ask lecturers and administrative staff in your new school questions and seek advice from them.
  12. It is better to be seen as naive and ignorant than it is to make unnecessary mistakes and waste time doing things wrongly.
  13. Also, try to make friends with some of the best students in senior classes and higher levels, so that you can start getting the best tips for navigating and thriving in the school from them.
